Welcome to Simpson Marine, a family run business established in Newhaven in the early 1980's by Russell Simpson and now run by Aran and Christian Simpson. Here, we have a very successful and busy new and used boat sales forecourt and chandlery store which is open seven days a week. We cater for all types of boating needs from yachting and motor-boating to fishing - everything that you will need for your boat should be in stock.

Simpson Marine have also been appointed main dealers for the fabulous range of Quicksilver fast luxury fishing boats and cruisers, Predator fishing boats & White Shark sports-utility boats - details of which can be found on this website.

We also operate a busy Boat Park and Slipway for park and launch offering storage for your boat and a daily launch and recovery service, more details can be found on the site.

Simpson Marine also specialise in the small boat market stocking a huge range of inflatable boats including Quicksilver, Genesis, Wetline, Walker Bay, Seago, Plastimo & Waveline in our 2000 square metre indoor showroom. We also stock a large range of Mariner outboard engines to suit these boats which means you can be on the water the very same day enjoying yourself !!

Meet the Team

Russell Simpson

Russell started the business in 1981 after working at the Newhaven Showroom since 1963, he has now retired but still likes to come in and socialise with the staff and customers. Russell is well known and respected within the boating industry and certainly now deserves a rest

Aran Simpson - Director

Aran joined the company in 1986 and has had several positions within the company specialising in running the Chandlery and Accounts dept. He is now joint Director of the company. Aran is a keen yachtsman and holds a number of yachting qualifications both practical & theory as well as competing in various offshore races including Fastnet & round Great Britain and Ireland.

Christian Simpson - Director-Secretary

Christian joined the company in 1988 and has also had several positions within the business, mainly being responsible for new and used boat sales. Christian is also responsible for designing and building Boat Show Stands where we have a large portfolio of leading boat manufacturers including Maxum & Bayliner from Brunswick Europe, Cobra luxury RIBS & Finnmaster.

Merilyn Pollard - Accounts

Merilyn has been with the company since 1999, she is mainly responsible for the accounts department and works every morning part time. She has also been known to make a nice cup of tea.

Darren Chisholm - Sales & IT

Darren joined the business in 2003 and has been a family friend for many years. He has been essential in the development of the chandlery stock which has grown extensively. He is also responsible for updating our Website and IT. Darren is also a keen angler and enjoys sea fishing.

Steven Giles - Boatyard

Steven joined Simpson Marine after he left school in 2007. After working part time through the school holidays and completing a very successful work experience programme, he decided to join the team. Steven is responsible for the boat yard and daily launch and recovery of boats. He has also achieved level II power boating and has been a member of the local sailing club.

Stuart Brann - Technician

Stuart joined the business in 2007 and is responsible for all new and used boat installations. Stuart comes from a background of engineering and holds several City and Guilds qualifications. He also has an involvement in boat show installations and logistics.
